Trippi - onetime manager of Mayor Jim Hahn's first campaign to be L.A. City Controller - leads the post by admitting that he recently sent out pro-Hertzberg email to multiple recipients that mistakenly called Democrat Hahn a Republican.
He then quotes what purports to be the entire email - apparently minus the error.
BoiFromTroy raises a good point, asking Hertzberg whether it's wise to ally himself early in the campaign with the fired architect of an angry-liberal presidential campaign that flew to pieces just two primaries in?
A quick note to Bob, if you're reading...affiliating yourself with Deaniacs and letting them use your site to say that calling someone a Republican is offensive is not the way to secure and maintain cross-over votes in this election.
How about asking whether it's wise to give blog space to a guy who spends part of it apologizing for a gaffe that he then hides, and the bulk of it rehashing an email proclaiming the greatness of a spectacularly flamed-out presidential candidate and extolling your virtues in a few vague, mush-mouthed paragraphs:
Bob Hertzberg is also facing a real challenge. He isn’t just running against the incumbent, Jim Hahn. He’s also up against the entrenched special interests that have far too much influence over the lives of the people in Los Angeles. He needs help from every one of us.
