Seems the Freeway Blogger has been busy during the long, hot summer inking protest signs for his latest "post":
You may remember his eastbound 10 stunt from last June, or caught a few more posters in his trenchant, DIY signage campaign against the Iraq War, such as this one or this one or perhaps the coverage in Le Monde.
On Tuesday, FB (who signs his emails only "The Scarlet Pimpernel" tells us he's planning on posting 100 of these (see picture) around Los Angeles ...
If he pulls it off, then kudos for the pirate broadcast and the nigh-impossible stunt of simultaneously outwitting the wily CHP, Caltrans and the other million or so eyeballs on the region's freeway system at any given moment. It's unclear whether he's enlisted helpers a la Robbie Conal, but his chances of getting busted are far higher working alone with the ambitious number of 100 signs. Announcing your intention to violate the law in such a broadly public manner may not be the brightest tactical decision, but you gotta admire the guy's moxie.
If Freeway blogger fails and winds up in jail, then bravo for the bravery, and good luck with the slew of misdemeanor charges that some enterprising assistant DA will likely slap on top of the ones he expects to get.
If nothing else, he might have to moderate his message soon, as the wily Bush administration seems to be preparing to prestidigitate Bin Laden out of whatever cell they've been hiding him in and announce him finally captured oh-so-conveniently close to the November election.
