The Hahn campaign must be getting desperate -- or they're just gluttons for punishment. They called twice today, begging, er, cajoling, er, asking us to vote the Mayor back into office.
The first caller was very polite when I said something to the effect of "not if he were the last hope for planet Earth before it was to be destroyed by an angry planet of overbilling PR aliens." But I could be paraphrasing.
The second caller, however, gave me a good laugh...

When I told her there was no chance in hell of me voting for Hahn, she said -- I swear -- "At least he's not Marion Barry."
Hmmm... I have to think about that one. Although if you change "water mains" in the following quote to "potholes" the comparison kind of works...
"People blame me because these water mains break, but I ask you, if the water mains didn't break, would it be my responsibility to fix them then? WOULD IT!?!" -- M. Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC
