(earlier:) Damn. Just two posts away from Post 1000, and now this.
If you're reading this right now, you're one of the few who's browsing LAVoice via an RSS reader. Our home page was hacked this evening - for the fourth time in two weeks, and this time pretty seriously. Anyone trying to get in via the home page will see this (it was a blank page saying only "spykids ownz you") ...
I'm trying to fix it right now, but I can't give you a prediction on when things will be put right.
The hackers - a Brazilian crew that has done this indiscriminately to numerous sites around the world "just for the boast," from what I've been able to glean from Google - have set up a script that overwrites every single file named "index.*" in my home directory, including my professional portfolio. Since I'm jobhunting at the moment, this could not have come at a worse time.
The good news is everything at LAVoice and FactoidLabs is backed up on my home machine.
I have inquiries out to smart systems folks who will, I hope, be able to help me rectify all this before too long.
Thanks for your patience, and for your participation in LAVoice. Keep an eye out. We'll be back.
