Apparently, that's what Star 98.7 is trying -- all music, no humans. And the move killed off yet another LA radio morning show.
Okay, I confess, I actually listened to Jamie, Jack and Stench. I listened to Jamie from the old Frosty and Frank days and through the Danny Bonaduce descent into VH-1 hell. Yes, the show was silly and mindless -- but sometimes that's a good thing ...

Station management explained it like this to the Orange County Register:
"Jamie (White)is well and, no, she hasn't had the baby yet," STAR 98.7 FM general manager Craig Rossi reassured listeners in an e-mail blast following last week's four-day "Star Music Search," which introduced, minus personalities, its new "Today's Music Alternative" format.
The artists range from standards U2, Green Day,No Doubtand Tonic to such newcomers as KT Tunstall, the Fray and Mike Doughty.
The "tell us what you want" format change kicked off April 9 with a www.star987.com online survey, with listeners voting through Wednesday. Listeners can still submit song requests at the Web site.
I like the new format. I never changed the frequency on my car radio. It's catchy, upbeat and almost makes driving the freeways a pleasure.
Rossi said he is not yet prepared to talk about when the personalities will return. By last Tuesday, Rossi e-mailed, "Quite a few e-mails upset that the morning show is off - I'm personally getting probably 50 to 60 each hour."
Seems like an odd move to me.
