The Griffith Park fire could have been prevented if the advice of the Friends of Silver Lake had been followed. For months we've been advocating fully developing the Park, including new and better roads opened to motor vehicles as well as monorails, parking facilities, and other structures designed to beautify and modernize the Park.
If these had been in place, there would be more green zones and fewer brush-clogged areas, and the remote regions of the park would be quickly and easily accessible to firetrucks. The fire would have been prevented in the first place, and if not it would have been quickly contained.
Do not let the fanatics ruin the park for everyone!
