Census 2020
LA Voice 2020 Census Toolkit
THE CENSUS IS A ONCE-IN-A-DECADE OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE OF FAITH IN LOS ANGELES TO ADVANCE OUR VISION OF COMMUNITIES OF BELONGING WHERE EVERYONE COUNTS.
Faith communities have a special role in ensuring a complete Census count of all our neighbors, especially those who have gone undercounted before – such as immigrants, low-income people, people experiencing homelessness, children, or people with disabilities.
The Census not only holds profound impacts on the federal funding for vital public services and political representation that our communities need to thrive, but also on our democracy’s ability to be a force for equity, inclusion, and the common good.
THE FOLLOWING RESOURCES SEEK TO SUPPORT FAITH LEADERS AS “TRUSTED MESSENGERS” IN THEIR COMMUNITY ON HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2020 CENSUS AND ITS LASTING SIGNIFICANCE FOR ALL OF US.
